Passageway Door – Notes

Additional Information

Standard Passageway Door Part Sizes

  • Left or Right Stile: 4 1/2″
  • Top Rail: 4 1/2″
  • Shaped Top Rail: 4 1/2″ (at the narrowest point)
  • Bottom Rail: 9″
  • Lockset Rail: 8″ (noted “LSR” in our online catalog drawings)
  • Other Center Rails: 4 1/2″
  • Center Stiles: 4 1/2″

*Passageway Door Part Sizes can be specified beyond the listed standard part sizes above; however non-standard part sizes may have an additional charge.

Custom Design Requests

All custom design requests may be submitted by contacting our Customer Support Team for assistance.

Finishing

Passageway Doors can be ordered Unfinished or Prefinished. WalzCraft will prefinish all four edges and both sides of doors. It is important to refinish any edges that will be cut off, sanded, or planed during installation.

Hardware & Installation:

Passageway Doors are not machined for any hardware. WalzCraft does not currently offer prehung (to a frame) Passageway Doors; however, Door Jamb Stop Molding is available in a variety of options to allow for building door frames on-site.

Warranty

WalzCraft does warranty Passageway Doors up to and including 80″ in height. Passageway Doors have an allowable warpage tolerance of 1/4″.

Please note that Interior Passageway Doors are not intended for exterior use, nor are they fire-rated. No warranty when doors are installed outdoors. This includes entryway doors even when there is a storm door planned/scheduled to be installed. A consistent interior climate must be maintained on both sides of the door.

Interior Passageway Doors

All Interior Passageway Door Styles are available with raised, flat, or varying raised & flat Center Panels (between the front and back sides). Thicknesses offered range from 1 1/4″ up to 2 1/2″.

All Traditional & Old World Mortise & Tenon Stile & Rail profiles can be specified, with compatibility varying by door thickness chosen. Applied Molding can be incorporated into your design, while it should be noted that some doors may have special clearance considerations to account for depending on hardware being used. All Center Panel profiles are compatible, while the only Outside Edge profile available is the D7 (squared) edge.

Valance – Toe Kick – Notes

Toe Kick Valances

Solid wood slab style Toe Kick Valances can add a hint of detail, small or large, to any cabinet, furniture, or custom built-in design. This style of valance can give an alternative “furniture feel” to the standard straight Toe Kick commonly integrated into bookshelves, hutches, entertainment centers and at the foot of base cabinets.

Each Valance is built to your specifications, allowing you to specify any size requirements up to 96″ in width. Our D7 (Squared Style) Outside Edge is considered a standard and is applied to the shaped edge only. Other Outside Edges are available upon request.

HPL Door – Notes

This Style 2224 Door and Style 2224* Drawer Front feature a machine applied edgebanding on all sides.

High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Cabinet Doors & Drawer Fronts have a MDF Core and are available in finished thicknesses of 5/8″ and 3/4″.

Additional HPL Door & Drawer Front Options:

  • Edgeband Material: PVC or Laminate Edgebanding and the Edgeband Color
  • HPL Manufacturer: Formica, Wilsonart, Nevamar, or another Manufacturer of your choice and the color.
  • HPL Options for front Face and Back side: Laminate Sequence Options
  • Edgeband Grain Direction: If your HPL contains a grain pattern, you have the option to specify a Edgeband Grain Direction (Lineal “Standard”).

Panel Molding is available in most of our standard Wood Species & Grade options, with a few limitations.

WalzCraft offers standard 8′ long moldings, and upon request and availability, also manufactures longer moldings from 9′ to 16′ in even foot increments. In all cases, WalzCraft will ship a molding that is at a minimum 97% usable (rounded down to the nearest inch).

All Moldings may be ordered Finished or Unfinished (sanded to a 180 grit).

As with all WalzCraft Moldings, Panel Molding may be ordered in any quantity (no minimum order).

Cabinet Valances

Solid wood slab style Upper Cabinet Valances can add a hint of detail, small or large, to any cabinetry, furniture, or custom built-in creation. This style of valance is commonly integrated into bookshelves, hutches, entertainment centers and to connect cabinets to the left and right above a kitchen sink.

Each Valance is built to your specifications, allowing you to specify any size requirements up to 96″ in width. Our D15 (Ogee Style) Outside Edge is considered a standard and is applied to the shaped edge and straight bottom edges only. Other Outside Edges can also be made available upon request.

Valance – Mortise & Tenon – Notes

Wainscot Valances

Mortise & Tenon Raised/Flat Panel Valances help to accessorize cabinetry & furniture in many ways. Whether as an addition to an elaborate Range Hood design, the common cabinetry arrangement, or simple bookcase creation, wainscot style valances can be a tasteful addition to any type of project.

The Standard Outside Edge profile is a squared (D7). All Traditional Stile & Rail Profiles are available, with 2 1/4″ Stile & Rail dimensions being the standard. For all Mortise & tenon Valance styles that have a radius bottom rail, the arch will be based on the specifications for the overall height & narrowest points of the Valance.

For variations of any standard Wainscot Valance style, please submit an inquiry with a drawing to our Customer Support Team to request a quote.

Crown Molding

This Crown Molding consists of two pieces, the decorative crown molding, and a mounting plate/cleat, that is assembled by WalzCraft.

Crown Molding is available in most of our standard wood species & Grade options, with a few limitations.

Our standard length for Crown Molding is 8′, however, longer lengths (8′ – 12′ & +12′) are also available in most wood species. All Crown Moldings may be ordered Finished or Unfinished (sanded to a 180 grit). As with all WalzCraft Moldings, Crown Molding may be ordered in any quantity (no minimum order).

Bull Nose Shelf Moldings are also available in various dimensions and are designed to cover the exposed edge of any 3/4″ thick shelf.

Our Molding #1885 specifically offers an increased height, which works well for covering any recessed lighting that may be used with your Knick Knack Shelf creations.

Shelf Supports – Notes

Shelf & Countertop Supports

Braces are centered on the support brackets and are attached (Assembled) with precision bored screws.

Solid wood Shelf – Countertop Supports are not available with Rigid Thermofoil (RTF) Finishes.

Assembled solid wood Shelf – Countertop Supports are a great way to support custom shelving, countertops and other custom components used in cabinetry, furniture, custom built-ins and other projects.

WalzCraft offers 3/4″ thick solid wood Shelf – Countertop Supports as a standard. (Please inquire about any other thickness requirements). Shelf – Countertop Supports are offered in various styles ranging from square to rounded and everything in between.
